Why do we have this Youth Protection Policy?

Youth prophylactic is the Number 1 priority  of the Male child Scouts of America. The BSA's Youth Protection Preparation has been an established safeguarding resource for the BSA for many years now and it is an accepted mandatory grooming for all registered adult volunteers. It is essential to implement this training at all levels of the Scouting organization (Pack, Troop, Crew, District, Council, etc.). The BSA is ever reevaluating and reassessing its policies to ensure the safest youth program and the best training forengaged adult volunteers and parents is being offered.

How practise y'all complete the online Youth Protection Preparation?

It is strongly recommended that all adults involved in Scouting take Youth Protection grooming. A person does not have to be a registered volunteer to take Youth Protection training. To accept the training, log in to my.scouting.org and create an account. From the my.scouting.org portal, click on East-training and take Youth Protection. Upon completion, impress a document. That certificate needs to accompany an Adult Awarding that gets submitted to the local Quango. Additionally, your unit (Pack, Troop, Crew, etc.) may want to go on it on file for easy reference.

I am an adult partner for a Lion or Tiger. Do I need to take Youth Protection training?

It is strongly recommended that all adults involved in Scouting take Youth Protection training. All registered adult leaders are required to take Youth Protection Preparation.  While the Lion and Tiger adult partner designations are not registered adult leader positions, there is zilch but added benefit from these adults completing the preparation. It is in every Scouting family'south best interest to be enlightened of the safeguards and barriers that Youth Protection Preparation offers to safeguard our youth right from the kickoff.

Are parents who nourish weekly meetings, weekend campouts, or summer resident camp required to take Youth Protection training?

It is strongly recommended that all adults involved in Scouting who participate in unit activities and events take Youth Protection training. Registered adult leaders are required to take Youth Protection Training. Existence register as developed leaders is also highly recommended. If an adult is attending a longer campout, like summer resident military camp, for 72 hours or longer, that adult must be registered as an adult leader and complete Youth Protection Training.

Can a council or district organize Youth Protection group grooming for its adults?

Yes, a Council or Commune may conduct grouping training for Youth Protection Training. Adults are encouraged to complete the grooming via the online module. A facilitator lead version of the latest Youth Protection Training will exist hosted at the Volunteer Service Center over the summer.

Do leaders need to wait until they take final clearance on the groundwork check to meet with youth?

No. Equally long as the adult has completed an Adult Application including consent for a background check, the awarding has been approved and submitted to the Quango Service Middle, their fee is paid and Youth Protection Training is certified as complete, they will be able to collaborate with youth while the required Criminal Background Check (CBC) is still pending.

Exercise Merit Badge Counselors need to have Youth Protection training?

Yeah. A Merit Badge Counselor is a registered volunteer position.

If a person is not a registered leader, how can he or she log in and take the Youth Protection preparation?

A person does not have to exist a registered volunteer to have Youth Protection training. To take the preparation, log in to myscouting.org and create an account. From the myscouting.org portal, click on E-preparation and take Youth Protection. Upon completion, impress a certificate and submit with a new application or submit to the unit leader for processing at the local council.

Tin units that have some adults that have non completed Youth Protection training be rechartered?

For a unit to be rechartered, it must accept all the required leadership positions filled with Youth Protection trained adults. Adults who have not completed Youth Protection preparation will not be registered.

Is there a grace catamenia to become all adults trained?

No. If a leader'southward Youth Protection preparation is not current, the volunteer must take or renew their training immediately. All adults registered in Scouting are required to accept a current certificate of completion of the Youth Protection grooming.

Practice all volunteers hateful all volunteers-even board members and council presidents?

Yes. The goal is to have all registered volunteers Youth Protection-trained. This is an important statement for united states an organization and shows our delivery to the well-beingness of our youth members.
